34 medicinal components have been identified in propolis, it contains 50-60% resins, 10-12% essential oils and about 5% pollen. These substances have very beneficial effects on the human body. What does the word propolis actually mean? It is of Greek origin and "pro" means before, before and "polis" then city, or community. So it refers to the "protection of the city" or beehive.
